PurePower


While PurePower is known today as one of the market leaders in endurance sports nutrition in Scandinavia, the brand's roots go deeper than you might expect. Its history dates back to 1947, when the parent company Toft Care was founded in Denmark.

What began in the agricultural sector quickly evolved into a high-end specialist for the medical industry. For years, Toft Care developed clinical nutrition for hospitals and care institutions, such as protein-enriched meals for cancer patients and specialized nutrition for people with swallowing difficulties. It is precisely this medical expertise—where precision, absorption, and quality are of vital importance—that forms the foundation of PurePower.

From Healthcare to the Sport Hero Around 2010, the company decided to translate this long-standing knowledge to the world of sports. Under the name PurePower, a product line was developed specifically aimed at "everyday sport heroes": from dedicated cyclists and runners to triathletes who settle for nothing less than the best support for their bodies.

Innovation and Flavor The transition from the medical world to sports also brought a focus on taste and ease of use. One of the absolute frontrunners is the Energy Snack series: oat bars with a soft texture that are not only satiating but also easy to consume even during intense exertion.

Energy gel

With the PurePower gels, you get an easy, fast and easily absorbable shot of carbohydrates. Perfect for taking during longer performances or during a race where you need to get ready for the final sprint! They are thin in structure, so you don't need to rinse them with water. This way you still get high-quality carbohydrates that provide you with new energy. 

You can also choose to take the gel before training or racing. Do that about 30-60 minutes before so your body has time to absorb the energy. During a long endurance ride, race or endurance run, it is especially important to find the right timing to take your gel on time. If you only do this when you feel you are starting to get 'empty', then you are too late. After all, it always takes your body some time to convert the carbohydrates into new energy.

Energy Snack

A perfect and quick source of energy for cycling, running and swimming. The Energy bar ensures you get a quick and efficient energy boost when you really need it. The creamy bars contains mainly oats, which makes they are slowly absorbed into your body and provide energy for a longer period of time. The bars contain around 34 grams of carbohydrates.
Perfect for long activities such as long gravel rides, hiking and even endurance running. This bar is less suitable when out of breath and exercising at a high intensity. The bar is perfectly suitable to take before exercising. For example, take an hour before your intensive training starts and you will be provided with a good dose of energy. This bar is also very suitable if you are looking for a healthy and filling snack.

Pre-workout Shot

Having an early training on the program and not yet fully awake? Or have you worked all day and feeling a little tired? Then the Pre Workout shot is perfect to provide you with a boost of energy! A pre-workout shot consists of natural ingredients that increase both your metabolism and energy level. The ingredients are caffeine, beta-alanine, vitamin B6, and L-arginine. Beta alanine is an amino acid that is processed in the body as carnosine. Carnosine is found in the skeletal muscles, which has the main task of neutralizing lactic acid. Bottom line, beta-alanine is effective when it comes to reducing lactic acid during heavy workouts. Which athlete doesn't want that?

It is important to know that 1 bottle of pre-workout contains 2 doses. We don't recommend taking the shot all at once, because of the caffeine. Despite the extra energy shot, sufficient rest between heavy workouts remains important. The pre-workout is a tool and not a panacea.

Ff you are looking for an optimal performance during training or competitions, the electrolytes are a mixture of salts and minerals that your body needs. Usually you get these important substances in a natural way through your daily diet. But if you push your body during workouts and competitions, your body might run out of them, which will result in dehydration or cramping.

Carbo Race Electrolyte sportdrank

The Carbo Race Electrolyte is a sports drink that has actually been specially developed for endurance athletes. This sports drink has a high carbohydrate content (depending on the flavour), around 57 grams with a bottle of 750 ml and an amount of powder of 60 grams. Of course you can do your own calculations depending on the effort. For easy calculation 100 grams of Carbo Race powder has an amount of 95 grams of carbohydrates. These carbohydrates are specifically composed and consist of maltodextrin, which has the highest glycemic index (GI), fructose and isomaltulose, which together ensure a long-term absorption, preventing spikes in blood sugar.

In addition to the carbohydrates, this sports drink also contains electrolytes. Electrolytes are a mixture of important nutrients and minerals. You need these to absorb moisture in your body. Without electrolytes you can still drink so much, but still be dehydrated. In addition, the electrolytes ensure that your fluid balance is maintained. If you lose 2% of your moisture, this will already lead to a loss of performance of 20%.

PurePower Recovery

In addition to protein powder, we also have a specific recovery powder for endurance athletes called Recovery. What makes this recovery different from regular protein powders? The main difference is in the composition. It contains both proteins and carbohydrates. After long endurance training, your energy reserves are often depleted. Therefore, we have added fast carbohydrates fructose, isomaltulose and maltodextrin to the recovery powder. It provides your body new energy which speeds up the recovery process.

Unlike the ordinary protein powder, the Recovery drink has a fresh taste and you hardly notice that it contains protein. The recovery powder (depending on the flavor) has per 60 grams/750 ml, 36 grams of carbohydrates and 18 grams of protein. You can assume 100gram powder contains 60 grams of carbohydrates and 30 grams of protein.
